When it comes to women’s intimate health, many of us are reluctant and embarrassed to talk frankly about it, which often leads to women suffering in silence.

A lot of the problems we worry about, however, are surprisingly common, such as stress urinary incontinence (SUI) – a frequent effect of the menopause experienced by as many as one in three women due to weakened pelvic floor muscles.

Others find that changes in their bodies brought about pregnancy, childbirth, and ageing are difficult to reverse, affecting everything from their self esteem to their sex life.

Hormonal changes associated with the menopause cause further weakening, leading to a reduction in muscle bulk or thickness and the loss of normal muscle function and fitness. Leaks caused by coughing, sneezing or exercising, needing to urinate more often and leaking before making it to the bathroom are all typical symptoms. The problem is exacerbated by the onset of the colder weather –impacting on our pelvic floor muscle co-ordination and activity, whilst reducing fluid loss through sweat. Understandably, the taboo nature of incontinence can make women feel ashamed, anxious and uncomfortable – but it doesn’t have to be this way.

iMEDicare’s Pelvic Health Naturally range comprises award-winning discreet, clinically effective and easy-to-use products designed to get your pelvic floor muscles working well again and give you reliable protection from leaking.
